Prolegomena

to a study of the return of the repressed in history

Author:

A collection of quotations from assorted anarchists, outlaws, and ne’er-do-wells, as well as a few enemies thereof.
With the occasional exception, this is a collection not of quips, but of historical and inspirational thumbnail sketches – the prisoner talking about his time in prison and release by the Spanish revolutionaries, the description of how to make dynamite, the excerpt from the 1918 Appeal of the Briansk Federation, the note to the police chief by a member of the Bonot Gang, as well as various quotations by anti-anarchists – including the charming bedtime story describing anarchists as killers of “emperors, kings, princes, presidents, likewise members of their families... it has long unkempt hair on its head and all over its face. Instead of fingernails it has long, sharp claws...”
A cleanly produced pamphlet, with no author given. Cover illustration by Flavio Constantini, internal drawings by Clifford Harper.
