One of the few long pieces Malatesta ever wrote, and what he called his best writing, this is a clarification of anarchist principles in nine chapters, translated by Vernon Richards, first published in 1974. Malatesta, an electrician by trade, was also a significant anarchist theorist, more pragmatic and wiser in some ways than Kropotkin, his contemporary. This is a fine introduction to anarchist thinking.
